Perhaps the most visually breathtaking film at Inside Out this year, Santiago Otheguy’s transcendent La León is a hushed black-and-white film set on the scenic, remote Paraná Delta of northern Argentina. The film poetically evokes a state of longing in its portrait of two men at odds. Subdued and atmospheric, set in a place that seems frozen in time, La León is as much about the sublime landscape as it is about the tense battle between two isolated men.

With fiery and precise footwork, stunning dancers mix it up at La Marshal, “the first gay tango hall in the entire world” and the Buenos Aires hot spot for tangled limbs and smouldering looks.
