Ruta de Fuga is a transmedia documentary that tells the story of the Venezuelan migration crisis through two migration routes from Venezuela to Peru: the Andes Route and the Amazon Route. Both routes span almost seven thousand kilometers through Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil and Peru. While the context of these stories is one of loss and hopelessness, Ruta de Fuga is also a celebration of human resilience and a call for solidarity.

Both routes were traveled in 2019, when Venezuelan migration to Peru reached record numbers; in June 2019, more than 8,000 Venezuelans were entering in a single day. Today the situation has changed as thousands of Venezuelans are returning to their country due to the crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. It is our intention that the stories narrated in Ruta de Fuga serve as examples of solidarity, strength and resilience in the midst of this human tragedy that knows no borders.
